Walnut Hill Homeowners Association has been present in this neighborhood for many decades now. While the neighborhood has changed during that time, today it is a vibrant, modern, safe, and happy neighborhood with members that are active, involved, and committed to the betterment of the community. It is because of the support of so many of our neighbors and the countless hours of volunteer service provided by people committed to WHHA that WHHA is able to:
- Manage very effective ENP and VIP programs that keep our neighborhood safe
- Collaborate with the Councilperson, the District 13 Plan Commissioner, and developers to provide a voice to our neighbors in the planning process for new neighborhood developments
- Host an annual July 4th Parade and Picnic that is enthusiastically supported by local businesses and draws a huge and happy crowd every year
- Maintain strong relationships with representatives at the DPD to ensure we have current crime statistics information at all times
- Maintain the WHHA website that we are hoping will become a focal source of information about our neighborhood. (This is a work in progress so we certainly appreciate your patience!)
- Produce a quarterly digital WHHA newsletter that is emailed to all members and will now also be available on the website.
- Maintain social media pages on Facebook and Instagram to provide neighbors with information and notifications that are relevant to the neighborhood
- Host an annual neighborhood meeting in which activities of the WHHA and the Board are presented with full transparency, including a summary of WHHA finances. This meeting typically includes a presentation by our Councilperson. All residents are strongly encouraged to attend. The meeting happens in early March. Look for notifications of the meeting date/time to be sent to members’ email in February, as well as being posted on signage throughout the neighborhood.
- Sponsor neighborhood street groups participating in the National Night Out Event
Our ongoing goal is to keep crime statistics low, making our neighborhood a safe place for all. The ENP program is in need of full support from each WHHA home. Right now, we can only offer 25 ENP patrol hours per week due to the small number of households participating in the program. We need more households to participate to increase the number of patrol hours! Our annual ENP cost, $200.00 for those under the age of 65 ($150.00 for those over 65). The WHHA Annual Neighborhood dues are only $25.00 per year. The ENP and Annual Neighborhood dues are among the lowest dues of any of our surrounding neighborhoods.
If you aren’t currently a WHHA member, please JOIN US NOW! If you are already a member, then PLEASE RENEW NOW!
Please encourage your neighbors to join both WHHA and support the ENP! Some neighbors might not know what WHHA does, so please let them know.
Payment Method and Timing
Once your payment is received and processed, you will receive a confirmation email from the WHHA Treasurer. The email will include the ENP phone number. Since the WHHA Treasurer is a volunteer, the payment processing time is not instantaneous. Online payments are received and processed typically much faster – within a few days – than payments mailed in by check. Payments by check are sent to our P.O. Box and picked up weekly during the enrollment period (January-February) and less frequently after that. So…do not expect to instantly receive the ENP phone number within 15 minutes of submitting your online payment or within a day of mailing your check in!
